Welcome to Sewing Machine 102! This beginner-friendly workshop is the next step after Sewing Machine 101 or for anyone that could use a little refresher on the basics. Ages 15+

We use Bernette B37 sewing machines, but you are welcome to bring your own to learn on as well. Please let us know with a note with your machine make/model at registration/check-out or send an email to admin@sewoncentral.com so we can be ready to help set it up.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Re-Introduction to Sewing Machines: We'll briefly review the different parts of a sewing machine and how they work together.

  • Machine Set-Up: We'll review how to thread the machine and wind/insert the bobbin, as well as how to change the needle.

  • Basic Stitches: You know the straight stitch, but we'll practice it with different stitch lengths, we'll try the zig-zag stitch with different widths and lengths, and you'll get to try out a few embroidery stitches as well.
