Intermediate Level | Sew the Tamarack, a Quilted Jacket

5 Session Class: Sundays 1:00-4:00pm
Dates: February 8, 15, 22, & March 1
This class is for advanced beginner to intermediate sewers; open to adults and teens, 13 and up. You should confidently know how to use a sewing machine.
The Tamarack Jacket is a warm and stylish quilted coat perfect for spring and fall layering, designed with transitional seasons in mind. Follow one of the two quilting designs included, or design your own to make your Tamarack totally original to you! You'll stay toasty thanks to the inner layer of batting, while the roomy patch pockets will keep your belongings safe. We have an optional collar piece as well, pictured below.
For pattern sizing, you can choose either range 0-18 or 14-30. Please select your pattern range at registration, charts are below. We will help you determine the specific size in class.
In this class you will learn:
- How to read and cut a pattern
- How to measure, read pattern size charts, and select the correct size
- Pattern layout and cutting fabric on-grain
- Straight seams
- Basic whole-cloth quilting
- Attaching patch pockets
- Applying bias binding
