2-Part Workshop: Machine Covers With Piping

2-Part Workshop (4 hours total): Mondays, April 13 & 20, 1 - 3 pm
Learn to make your own piping and apply it to a sewing machine or serger cover! Please choose at registration which type of machine you'd like to make a cover for. The sewing machine cover will fit a machine with approximate dimensions of 15" long x 12" high x 7" deep, and the serger will fit a machine that is 12” long x 12” high x 14” deep. There is a little wiggle room here so don't fret if your machine is an inch larger in any direction, but if you want to fit your machine exactly, please bring your machine measurements to the first class so that we can adjust accordingly.
This is a beginner to advanced beginner level class; you should know how to operate a sewing machine and sew straight seams.
Skills learned include:
- Following a pattern and adjusting it for size
- Cutting bias tape, creating and installing piping
- Cutting with a rotary cutter and ruler
- Adding a panel pocket
- Sewing canvas and finishing edges
- If time allows, we'll set snaps on our panel pocket as well
