About the Pattern
The pattern includes 12 pages of detailed written instructions with photographs of each step. Pattern pieces for both the 20" and 16" sizes are included as separate print-at-home files.
Both sizes are sewn the same way, though the 16" goose can be a tiny bit more difficult due to smaller pieces, specifically the beak, turning the feet and neck, and stuffing the head. But it's 100% doable. Just take it slow. There are also tips on page 3 for scaling down to a 9" Tiny Goose, though that one's tricky due to the size and isn't officially part of the pattern.

A 2.5-hour private companion video walks you through the whole process step by step. The link is included inside the pattern. Timestamps for every section are written into the pattern so you can jump to exactly what you need or watch the whole thing start to finish.
- Legs on or off: Make your goose with dangling legs attached to the feet, or leave the legs off for a cleaner sit-on-a-shelf silhouette.
- Vinyl beak: Use faux leather or vinyl for the beak for a fun, shiny texture. It sews exactly the same way, just skip vinyl on the feet, as the topstitching can shred it.
- Patchwork body: Piece together a patchwork panel and cut the body from it for a one-of-a-kind goose. The companion video includes a clip on how to make a patchwork panel. The yellow and white checkerboard version is a favorite.
- Surprise wings: Use a different fabric on each side of the wing so when it lifts up there's a little surprise of coordinating fabric underneath. Or omit the wings entirely on patchwork versions for a cleaner look.
- Flamingo mode: Extend the leg pattern piece to 12+ inches, go pink, and you've got a flamingo. Try knotting the leg for a flamingo knee.
